George Epaphras Lwanga is the Founder and Executive Director of Epaphras Canopy Foundation. He brings more than a decade of experience in accounting, audit, taxation, financial management and organisational administration across Uganda, Rwanda and the United Arab Emirates.His years working in the Middle East gave him first-hand exposure to the difficult circumstances faced by Ugandans who become stranded abroad. This experience helped shape ECF's focus on safe return, reintegration and practical pathways that enable returnees to rebuild stable and independent lives in Uganda.He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Ndejje University and provides leadership in organisational strategy, partnerships, financial oversight and programme development.

Having worked for several years in the Middle East, George gained first-hand exposure to the challenges faced by Ugandans living and working abroad, particularly those who become stranded or unable to return home safely. This experience helped shape ECF’s commitment to safe return, reintegration and practical support that enables returnees to rebuild their lives with dignity.
George holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Ndejje University. His experience in financial controls, advisory services, organisational administration and team leadership supports ECF’s overall direction, governance and programme development.
